Twelve young people from Solihull have just returned from competing in the annual Sea Scout Football Competition at HMS Excellent in Portsmouth. The two six-a-side teams from 4th Knowle Sea Scout Group played extremely well given it was their first year at national level. The older team came top of their league, but were knocked out just before the semi finals. 16 year old Watch Leader, and goalkeeper, Ant Krstic said "we defeated some of the past winners and only lost 2 matches. I know some of the teams are worried that with more training, we'll be back next year to take the cup". The weekend event is hosted by the Royal Navy and the Sea Scouts stayed aboard the destroyer HMS Bristol. Anyone interested in finding out more about the Group can visit www.knowleseascouts.org.uk .
