Next

2007 is the Centenary of the Scout Movement and Knowle Sea Scouts celebrated in style by taking part in no less than five summer camps!

35 Sea Scouts spent a week under canvas in Hertfordshire doing a range of adventurous activities and visiting local tourist attractions.

At the same time, 14 Sea Scouts toured Spain, Gibraltar and Morocco, joining in activities with the Royal Navy, forging links with foreign Scouts and undertaking a community project.  There was of course be time for plenty of fun including powerboating and canoeing, and visits to water parks and the beach.

3 Sea Scouts spent a week at Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth experiencing life as an officer in the Royal Navy through leadership tasks, lectures, ships bridge simulators, boatwork, scuba diving and by spending lots of time on the parade square!

Finally, four Sea Scouts attended two very special camps on Brownsea Island; the birthplace of the Scout Movement 100 years ago.  They celebrated the Centenary with Scouts from all across the world, an experience that will last a lifetime.

Knowle Sea Scout Group has over 250 members and is run by entirely by volunteers.  To find out more visit www.knowleseascouts.org.uk .
