St Georges Day parade at Windsor - selection process
Folks
My last job ( ! ? ) as Blythe DESC.
Today I have received a letter from HQ concerning the St Georges Day parade at Windsor on Sunday 19 or 26 April ( date yet to be decided ) 2009.
They are seeking Explorers, Networker's and Leaders to act as Readers, Section Leaders and members of Colour Parties during the parade. It would appear you can select which role you would prefer to do – they may however offer you another!
This year they would like representation from around the Country and are therefore throwing the selection net wider. They intend to hold 4 selection / interview dates, across the country during November to ensure the right people are selected.
To qualify you need to be an Explorer or Network member ( leaders see below ) and hold the Queens Scout Award. ( You can be working towards the award and will have completed it by next year ) Costs relating to travel, uniform etc will be met by the Scout Association. The selection dates and locations are:
15 November – London Gilwell Park
16 November – Bristol
22 November – Birmingham
23 November – Manchester
So those at University can attend a location near to their ‘Uni'.
If you have any interested Scouts ask them to contact me and I'll forward to them the application form. Places are limited and the deadline for application is the 31 October 2008. I can also be contacted if they want any further information.
Leaders can also attend. To qualify they must also be a Queens Scout and a current member of the Association.
Can you please ensure those individuals that are eligible to attend this event are advised.
If anyone has any further questions – or wish to apply please contact me.
Regards
Steve O'Grady
